a tribute to Angie

Angie and I grew close agonizing together throughout our painful, winless senior year football season ---- his pith and serene sense of humor helped me survive this very personal adolescent tragedy. Phil was an adult among schoolboys who never succumbed to his teenage hormones. He was always as solid as a rock. So much more I could say in tribute to this gentle soul and kind man....., I will conclude by paraphrasing a few lines of poetry from Yeats ............

Though leaves are many, the root is one;

Through all the days of our shared youth

We swayed our leaves and flowers in the sun;

Now the time has come to wither into the Truth
