Obituary for Philip George Angelini Jr.

Philip George Angelini, Jr., of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away on July 31, 2016. He was 74. He was born in Havre de Grace, to Philip George Angelini, Sr., and Maria Emma Louisa Casaldi Angelini.
Mr. Angelini was the devoted husband of the late Kay Barrett Angelini, loving father of David V. Angelini and his wife Karen, Douglas B. Angelini and his wife Janet, and Jeffrey P. Angelini and his wife Stacey. He was the adoring grandfather of Joshua K. Angelini, Julie M. Angelini and Rebecca N. Angelini. He was the dear brother of Richard Angelini and his wife Carolyn, Rose “Tootsie” Hooker and her husband Edward, and the late Joseph Angelini and Robert Angelini. He is also survived by his sister-in-laws, Joanne Gilliand and Joanne Angelini.
Mr. Angelini worked as Computer Programmer for several years at Aberdeen Proving Ground. He retired from Zurich Insurance Company. He was a member of the Havre de Grace Elks Lodge. He served five consecutive terms as a Havre de Grace City Councilman from 1984-1994. He was very involved in Havre de Grace Parks and Recreation for many years while coaching his children in football and baseball. He loved sports especially the Orioles and Ravens. Mr. Angelini enjoyed traveling. He was an avid Bridge player. When his wife became ill, he showed tireless love and support for her, and was always with her at Citizens Care Center. Even after her passing, he still volunteered his time there.
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 5, 2016, from 1-3 PM, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 S. Washington St., Havre de Grace, MD. Funeral services will begin at 3 PM. Father Dale Picarella will officiate.
Contributions may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
