Obituary for James A. "Jimmy" Burkentine Jr.

James “Jimmy” Alfred Burkentine, Jr., of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away on August 29, 2015. He was 75.
He was born in Havre de Grace, MD, to the late James A. Burkentine, Sr., and Pamela Viola Burkentine.
Mr. Burkentine was the devoted husband of 51 years to Texie Lee Hodge Burkentine. He was the dear brother of Betty Marie Privett. He was the uncle of Mamie Lynn Baldwin, great-uncle to Amanda Marie Lamb, and great-great uncle to Matthew David Mershon, Jr. He is also survived by his dogs, Priscilla and Daisy.
Mr. Burkentine served in the U.S. Army for two years. He worked as a dairy farmer. He loved farming, his family, and woodworking.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2015 from 6-9 PM, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 S. Washington St., Havre de Grace, MD. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 4, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Pastor Jeffrey Elwood will officiate. Interment will be held at Harford Memorial Gardens.
