My Friend

Rich Holly or as most of his friends addressed him "Holly" was very special. I knew Holly since our undergraduate years at Bloomsberg University in Pennsylvania and our six years as roommates in Harford County. He was our Best Man at our wedding. Holly possessed a brain for detail. He could tell you the name, vocalist, and year produced of any song from 1950-now. Statistics? He knew every player, their stats for almost every sport including Sumu wrestling. His gift for facts was perfect for his college major of business Those who were lucky to have him as their teacher immediately recognized that he was smart. His intellect was matched by his compassion for. others. Whenever he was made aware of someone in need, without question, he would be there for them. He possessed of gift of "Common Sense", which at times, he used to ignore prescribed rules to get a fair outcome. Hie loved teaching and relished in his students success and "lit up" when a former student shared his/her stories of their travels in life. He really cared and took the time to listen. He loved his job, his students, his school, and his beloved Havre de Grace. He was a great humanitarian, teacher and friend. Because he will get to the gates of heaven before me, I'm afraid he has raised the bar for entry. I do hope to see you later Rick/Vinnie/Wally
