The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Susan Zachry can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Kelly Keller Edwards

I had the pleasure of meeting "Zach" in 1996 when I started working at Brockbridge Correctional Facility. She worked a different shift but always smiled and said Hi. This is not common in Corrections! We both attended an event shorty after that and she snuck up behind me and started a conversation. That was all it took. We had a lot in common and became great freinds. I started a woman's baseball team and not only did she join but she talked her father into coaching the team! We took 1st place our very 1st year. Her whole family was always willing to help and support our team. She recruited many of her freinds to play also. We also played on several softball teams together and against each other. We both loved motorcycles and I even bought my 1st motorcycle from her! We rode with different clubs but we went to events that both clubs attended. Even after I transferred to another prison to work as a Lt. We kept in touch. Inmates thought we were the same person many times. I considered that a compliment. She gave her heart and soul to everything she did... Army, DOC, baseball, softball, motorcycle events, family, freinds, anyone that had the pleasure of knowing her was a better person because of her! She will be missed by so many and she made a great impact in our lives! A piece of me is now gone but I am comforted by the fact that she will be watching out for me and many others in spirit! Your freind forever, Kelly
