Obituary for Gail Kimbal Carriere

Gail Kimbal Carriere, of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away on December 15, 2014. She was 80 years old.
She was born in Johnstown, New York to Harry and Ella Travis. She was the devoted wife to the late Dr. John Albert Arthur Alouicious Carriere, loving mother of John A. Carriere, Jr., of Havre de Grace, MD, Kate Carriere Milutin and her husband Rudy, of Matthews, NC, and the late Susan Carriere Gumbel. Mrs. Carriere was the grandmother of Sarah Gumbel and Katie Gumbel. She is also survived by her step-daughter, Patty Desjadon and her husband Dean (deceased), of Shoreham, VT, and their children Michael, Julie and Danielle. She was predeceased by her sister Norma Murdoch.
She received a degree in secondary education from the University of the State of New York. Before raising her family, Mrs. Carriere was a high school English teacher at Ichabod Crane High School in New York. She was a wonderful mother and friend. She was always artistic. She enjoyed playing the piano, sketching, painting, and gardening. She was a great cook and created recipes with her husband. She enjoyed decorative carving and was a member of the Havre de Grace Decoy Museum.
A viewing will be held on Friday, December 19, 2014 from 4-6 PM, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 South Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD. A Mass of Resurrection will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2014, at 11:00 AM at St, Patrick’s Catholic Church, 615 Congress Avenue, Havre de Grace, MD.
