Crowell and his twin Charles were born on August 29, 1929, in Havre de Grace, Harford County, Maryland. He attended the University of Maryland for three years. Called to Calvary Presbyterian, Norfolk VA in 1957, Crowell was instrumental in the nation-wide formation of the Presbyterian Church in America. Remaining at Calvary until 1974, he moved to a Presbyterian congregation in Pensacola, FL. He served in the PCA, aiding new and developing congregations. He further led churches in South Carolina, Indiana, Pennsylvania, and Kentucky. In retirement, he aided numerous congregations, while making strangers feel welcome in Greenville’s Second Presbyterian Church. Midge and Grace are currently members of Good Hope Presbyterian Church in Silver Spring, MD.

A man of intense conviction, Midge extolled the Scriptural teachings of the Presbyterian Church in America, and leaves the world with many friends and believers, drawn to his example.
