Mary Grace DeBonis, of Havre de Grace, MD, and Punta Gorda, FL, passed away on May 10, 2018. She was 93.
Mrs. DeBonis was born in Selma, North Carolina, to William and Ronie Batten. She was the devoted wife of the late Nicholas DeBonis, loving mother of Rodney Lynn DeBonis of Punta Gorda, FL, and Havre de Grace, MD, and Sharon Hodges of Aberdeen, MD. She was the adored grandmother of Amy Hodges, Justin Hodges, Kortney DeBonis, Michael DeBonis, and Carson DeBonis. She was the dear sister of Vernon Batten, Graham Batten, and Julian Batten.
Mrs. DeBonis worked at the U.S. Post Office in Aberdeen, MD, for 27 years. She was a partner in several businesses with her husband, Nicholas DeBonis.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 16, from 6-8 PM, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 S. Washington St., Havre de Grace, MD. A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 17, from 10:30- 11 AM, at Church of the Good Shepherd, 810 Aiken Avenue, Perryville, MD. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM. Father Jay McKee will officiate. Interment will be held at Bel Air Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Justin Hodges, Doug Pasini, Tate Pasini, and Sean DeBonis.
Contributions may be made in her memory to Good Shepherd Catholic School Scholarship Fund, 810 Aiken Avenue, Perryville, MD 21903.
