He was a gentle soul who always had a kind word and a smile to match. As we got older it seemed we only saw one another at ball games at Stancil. Austin will always be remembered by me as a man who was attracted to challenges, demonstrated his innovative mind (which he called "Hillbilly Engineering"), and personally fabricated hardware to eliminate the challenges while maintaining a cool head and his always positive and cheery attitude.
