Clarence “Austin” Standiford, Jr., of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away on March 20, 2018. He was 72.
Austin was born in Fountain Green, MD, to Clarence Austin Standiford, Sr., and Roberta Henderson Standiford. He was the devoted husband of 47 years to Ruth Rae Standiford, loving father of Amy Durkin and her husband Paul, of Aberdeen, MD, Nicole Goldberg and her husband Steven of Garner, NC, and Renee Diveley of Havre de Grace, MD. Austin was the adored grandfather of Brandi Doherty, Beau Butcher, Cameron Standiford, Rachel Goldberg, Gracie Diveley, Lindsay Goldberg, and Nicholas Goldberg, and great-grandfather of Madison Durkin, Blakely Butcher, Aubree Durkin, April Doherty, and Caitlin Doherty. He was the brother of Jeanie Breitenbach, Laura Kalb, and the late Norman Standiford.
Austin retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground and was the Owner and Operator of “The Sharpening Shack”. He was a member of the Stevenson Masonic Lodge and member and President of the Pilottown Rod And Gun Club. He enjoyed shooting, fishing, boating, and crabbing. His most cherished time was spent with his grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Monday, March 26, 2018, from 11 AM until 1 PM, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 S. Washington St., Havre de Grace, MD. Funeral services will begin at 1 PM. Pastor Paul Simmons and Pastor Bill Hill will officiate.
