Obituary for Thomas Rick Hash

Thomas Rick Hash, of Havre de Grace, Maryland, passed away on December 15, 2017. He was 71.
Mr. Hash was born in Marion, Virginia, to Lester Hash and Dina Bailey Hash. He was the devoted husband of Opal Walls Hash for 50 years, loving father of Gregory Hash of Havre de Grace, MD, and Traci Hash Cuypers and her husband Dwayne of Holdrege, Nebraska, and adored grandfather of Christian and Tehya Cuypers. He was the brother of Leonard Hash and Letcher “John” Hash of Marion, VA, Max Hash of Sugar Grove, VA, Joann Parks of Atkins, VA, Lida Parks Churchville, MD, Brenda King of Marion, VA, and the late Bill Hash, Dale, Hash, Viola Hall, Betty Daniels, Okie Fritz, Ada Coomes, and Mary King.
Mr. Hash retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground. He served in the U.S. Navy and received a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star with “Combat V” in the Brown Water Navy in Vietnam. He loved gardening and feeding wildlife, including feral cats. He was an avid reader and enjoyed listening to all types of music.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at 11:00 AM, at Harford Memorial Gardens, 3839 Aldino Road, Aberdeen, MD. Pastor Paul Simmons will officiate.
