Obituary for Russell A Gallion Sr.

Russell A. Gallion, Sr. of Havre de Grace, MD passed away on November 18, 2017 at Harford Memorial Hospital. He was 74 years of age, and the devoted husband of 48 years to M. Nancy Gallion.

Mr. Gallion was born in Harford County, MD to the late Russell E. and Marie (Wirsing) Gallion. He was the devoted father to; Denise Smith and her husband William Jr., Dennis Remines and his wife Sandra, Brian Remines and his wife Christine, David Gallion and his long time partner Bonnie Dowell and Russell A. Gallion, Jr. and his wife Mary Jo. He was the beloved grandfather to; Amanda, Adam, Amber and Austin Smith, Joey Lysen, Kevin and Samantha and Caitlin Remines, Tiffany and Timothy Corbin and Russell Gallion, III. Mr. Gallion was the adoring great-grandfather to Landon Biddle, Nicholas Corbin, Braelyn and Brianna Lysen. He is survived by his siblings; Charles Lewis Gallion, Joseph Gallion, Earl Gallion, Nolan Gallion, Sr., Philip Gallion and Betty Knight, and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Gallion retired from the Maryland Transportation Authority as a Maintenance Supervisor after 38 years of service. He was a Life Member of the Level Volunteer Fire Company, with 53 years of service, having served as Chief and President. He was awarded many Fireman of the Year, EMS of theYear, and Top Ten Responder awards, and had been inducted into the Harford/Cecil Fireman's Association Hall of Fame. He was an US Air Force Veteran, and member of American Legion Post #135.

A viewing will be held on Monday, November 27, 2017 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 S. Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 10 A.M. at the Level Volunteer Fire Company, 3633 Level Village Road, Havre de Grace, MD.

Interment will be at Rock Run Cemetery.
