Obituary for Norman Elwood Oals

Norman Elwood Oals, of Colora, MD, passed away on September 23, 2017. He was 60.
Mr. Oals was born in Landshut, Germany to Hedy Oals of Havre de Grace, MD, and the late Elmer “Jim” R. Oals. He was the devoted husband of 18 years to Rebecca Oals, loving father of Trisha Lyn Bohl and her husband Nicholas, of Guyton, GA, Stacy Oals Altland and her husband Michael, of Rising Sun, MD, Dorothy “Dottie” Cole and her husband Kendrick Cole, Sr., of Atlanta, GA, and James Ross of Colora, MD. He was the grandfather of Devyn and Kylie Bohl, Cameron, Brycen and Harlow Altland, Chanel Cole, Chase Ross, Gabriel, Kendrick, Jr., Michael, Davanna, Rebecca and Carolina Cole. He was the great-grandfather of Kobe Morris. Mr. Oals was the brother of Ingrid Bowman, Rose Chaillou, and Hedy Peak, and uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his best friend, Walter “Tommy” Hartman.
Mr. Oals was a member of Club ’66, and the American Legion Post 47. He loved fishing, boating and hunting, especially waterfowl hunting. Mr. Oals also enjoyed riding his motorcycle and his ’69 Camaro, and throwing horseshoes. His greatest hobby was spending time with his grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2017, from 2-4 and 6-8, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 South Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at 11:00 AM, at the funeral home. Father Dale Picarella will officiate.
