Gerald “Jerry” S. Phillips, Jr. of Bear, DE passed away at home on June 21, 2017. He was the devoted husband of Vickie Coulter-Phillips. He was 60 years old.

Jerry was born in Easton, MD to the late Gerald “Jerry” Phillips, Sr. and Phyllis M. Phillips. He was the loving father of Amber R. (Phillips) Benson. Adoring grandfather to John Thomas “JT” Vomund, Jr. and Tyler Helsel. Jerry is survived by his sister Sheila P. Tyler and her husband Lawrence H. Tyler, Jr. He was the uncle of Tammi Purnell and her husband Randy; great-uncle of two nieces and great-great uncle of one nephew.


Mr. Phillips had retired as a Talbot County Deputy Sherriff in 1988. He was a member of Loyal Order Of Moose, Tilghman Island Volunteer Fire Company, Pool League and Bowling Leagues. He was a gun collector and he enjoyed fishing and crabbing. He a loyal fan of the Orioles and Ravens. He loved traveling with his wife.


A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, June 25, 2017, 2 P.M. at the Tilghman United Methodist Church, 5731 Tilghman Island Road, Tilghman, MD. Interment will be held following services at the Tilghman Memorial Cemetery.

Friends and Family may make contributions to the Tilghman Island Volunteer Fire Company or the American Cancer Society.
