Obituary for Betty Lee Myers (Nichols)

Betty Lee Nichols Myers, of Aberdeen, MD, passed away on June 10, 2017 after a battle with lung cancer. She was 74. Mrs. Myers was born in Powhatan, Virginia, to Emil and Carrie Nichols. She was the devoted wife of 47 years to William Clifton Myers. She was the loving mother of Ross Myers and his wife Connie Steck, Kimberly Myers Rotondo and her husband Brian Rotondo, and Christopher Myers. She was the adored grandmother of Rocco and Lukas Rotondo. She is also survived by two brothers Samuel Nichols and Gene Nichols. Her brother Robert Nichols passed previously.
Mrs. Myers retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground Civilian personnel office. She was a member of The Aberdeen Church of Christ, The HDG Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, The United States Daughters of 1812, The Southern Dames of America, The Colonial Dames XVII century, The Daughters of the Confederacy, The Red Hat Society, and was a Volunteer at the Perry Point Veteran’s Hospital. She loved to travel with her friends, quilt, and go to luncheons and play with her grandchildren.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. at The Aberdeen Church of Christ, 90 Mount Royal Avenue, Aberdeen MD 21001. Brother Thomas Fender will officiate.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Havre De Grace American Legion Post #47, 501 St. John’s street, Havre De Grace, MD 20178 or The Kennedy Krieger Institute Children’s Hospital International Center for Spinal Cord Injury. 801 North Broadway, Baltimore MD, 21205.
