Obituary for Bill E. McMillan

Bill E. McMillan, of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away on May 7, 2017. He was 91.
Mr. McMillan was born in West Jefferson, North Carolina, to Guy Morgan McMillan and Dora E. McMillan. He was the loving father of Dorelei “Dodie” McMillan of Havre de Grace, MD. He was predeceased by his two wives, Bobbie Mitchell McMillan and Betty Brooks McMillan, and his brother James McMillan.
Mr. McMillan served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and fought in the Battle of Pelleliu and Okinawa. He worked as an Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic for Lutz’s in Belair, then for his own business and retired from the Perry Point VAMC. Mr. McMillan loved raising beagles and running field trials. He was a member of the Chesapeake Beagle Club, and the Havre de Grace Elks Lodge. He was an avid Orioles fan and loved decoys. He may have been best known for his Story Telling and sharing history with people.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2017, from 11:00 AM until 1:00PM, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A, 123 South Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM. Internment will be held at Bel Air Memorial Gardens.
