Obituary for Anna Cheyney Hipple Garrett (Hipple)

Anna Cheyney Hipple Garrett of Forest Hill, MD passed away surrounded by the love of her family on April 23, 2017. She was 95. She was the devoted wife of the late Willie Everett Garrett.

Mrs. Garrett was born in Havre de Grace, MD to the late William and Lilly Bayliss Hipple. She was a graduate of Havre de Grace High School and was also a veteran of the Women’s Army Air Corps. Mrs. Garrett retired from the Aberdeen Proving Ground after a long Federal career.

Anna was the beloved mother to Wanda Garrett of Hanover, PA, Wayne Garrett and his wife Cindy of Sacramento, CA, Judith Garrett of Perryville, MD, Robert Garrett and his wife Susan of Bel Air, MD and Rodney Garrett and his wife Jane of Desoto, MO. She was the adoring Grandmother of nine; Gregory, Justin, Kimberly, Andrea, Adam, Micah, Jeremiah, Matthew and Elizabeth Garrett. The Great-Grandmother of seven; Liam and Evan Garrett, Riley Aquino, Elijah and Jonah Garrett, Skyler Lin and Maleah Garrett. She is survived by her brother John Hipple and was predeceased by her siblings; Price Hipple, Ella Strong, Mildred Mundis and William Hipple.

Anna loved traveling in the motorhome and had visited every state in the United States, except Hawaii. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and playing cards and games with her family.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2017 from 5 P.M. to 7 P. M. at the Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 S. Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD 21078.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 10 A.M. at the Zellman Funeral Home, P.A.
