Obituary for Sharon Murray Ferrell

Sharon Murray Ferrell, 79, of Mechanicsville, VA, passed away on February 16, 2017.

She was born May 19, 1937 to the late Edgar A. Murray and the late Mollie Boyd Murray in Havre de Grace, MD. She attended Havre de Grace High School and received an A.A. in Business from Harford Community College. She worked 32 years for C & P Telephone Company.

She loved gardening, and belonged to several botanical associations, traveling on house and garden tours throughout the U.S. She moved from Harford County to Mechanicsville, VA, in 2000, where she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, John D. Ferrell, Jr. and his wife, Mary, of Mechanicsville; four grandchildren, Justin, Matthew and wife Angela, Emily and husband Brandon, and Allison, and four great-grandchildren; and siblings Richard Murray, Carol McGowan and Mary Holt. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Douglas Ferrell, a son, David Ferrell, and her brothers E. Allen Murray, Jr. and James Murray.

A service will be held at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 South Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD, on Saturday, February 25, at 11 a.m.
