Life Story for June Edith Hagert (Anderson)

June Edith  Hagert (Anderson)
Edith June Hagert of Havre de Grace, MD passed away on February 2, 2017 at Stella Maris in Timonium, MD. She was 94.
Edith June Hagert was born in Grassy Creek, Virginia. She was the oldest of seven children. June had three sisters; Ruby, Helen and Juanita as well as three brothers; Laurence, Jimmy and Lester. June moved to Maryland when she was eight years old. Her father and mother farmed for sixty years. Her parents were Deedie and Carrie Anderson. The family worked the farm and as they grew older five children went on to other lines of work, two of the boys stayed on the farm.
June married George Hagert who was from Baltimore when she was nineteen. They were married June 20th, 1941. June got a job at Esskay and soon after they built a beautiful brick home on Pulaski Highway.
June and George spent a great deal of time with her sister Juanita and her new husband Tom, who was also from Baltimore. They enjoyed going to the movies, Chinese Food and walks in downtown Baltimore.
When her in-laws became ill, June cared for them both until they passed away. June and George moved back to Harford County after his parents death and bought a lovely rancher on a large lot.
June and George never had children. She was loved by many nieces and nephews. She even had one great-great-great nephew.
June and George were blessed with 46 years of marriage. George passed away November 1st, 1985 and June never re-married.
June continued to care for her home and lawn. She had a great love for cooking, gardening flowers and shrubs and her landscaping was always beautiful. She loved to cook and was a great cook. She was always trying new recipes, especially sweets and breads.
June loved the Lord and had a tremendous love for life.
