Obituary for Lee Wayne Rector Sr.

Lee Wayne Rector, Sr., of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away on November 24, 2016. He was 79 years old. Mr. Rector was born in Oceola, Missouri, to Orville and Magnolia Rector. He was the husband of the late Nannie Bell Rector and the late Janice Rector. Mr. Rector was the loving father of Lee Wayne Rector, Jr., and his wife Annette Macon of Aberdeen, MD, Daniel Lee Rector, Sr., of Havre de Grace, MD, and Michael Rector and his wife, Jessica of Bel Air, MD, and was the step-father of Bobby Barnes of Havre de Grace, MD, Joe Harrold and his wife Vicky of Aberdeen, MD, and the late James Dean Harrold. He was the adored grandfather of Jeffrey Lee Rector, Daniel Lee Rector, Jr., Christopher Wayne Rector and Amy Dennison, and great-grandfather of 2 great-grandchildren. Mr. Rector was the dear brother of Orville and Charlene Rector, Keith and Anita Rector, Rolly and LaDonna Rector, Lee Rector, Orvilla Wade, and the late James Rector, William Rector, Raymond Rector, Mildred Bryant, and Betty June Rector.
Mr. Rector retired from the U.S. Navy, serving 5 tours in Vietnam on various aircraft carriers. He also helped with the rescues of Apollo 11 and Apollo 13. Mr. Rector was a member of VFW Post 8126 and American Legion Post 47. He enjoyed fishing, playing Bingo and going to casinos.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2016, from 6-8 PM, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A, 123 South Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016, at 11:00 AM, at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Rock Run Cemetery.
