Obituary for Woodrow James Griffith

Woodrow J. Griffith of Conowingo, MD, passed away surrounded by the love of his family, to the loving arms of his Redeemer, Jesus Christ, on August 4, 2016.

Born in Havre de Grace, MD, on July 18, 1947, he was the son of the late Woodrow W. Griffith and Maude E. (Zueger) Bowling. Woodrow served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Aberdeen Proving Ground Fire Department and the Shoprite Grocery. He loved fishing, watching and playing baseball and enjoyed the Oriole games. He also was a fan of the Ravens. He was an active member of the River City Baptist Church in Port Deposit, MD. Above all things Woodrow loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife Linda L. Griffith, his son Joshua J. Griffith and daughter Rebecca S. Griffith, his step-children Mark D. McGee and his wife Pam, Guy D. McGee, Jr, Carolyn M. Crouse and her husband Randy and Connie L. Eller; grandchildren, Mark McGee, Jr, Samuel & Tina McGee, Paige Miller, Julia Crouse and Kurtis & Makayla Eller, two great-grandchilren.



Family and friends are invited to a visitation at River City Baptist Church, 312 Craigtown Rd., Port Deposit, MD 21904 on Monday, August 8, 2016 from 5 – 8:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be celebrated by Pastor Willie Walton at River City Baptist Church, 312 Craigtown Rd., Port Deposit, MD 21904 on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at 10 A.M. Burial will be in Highview Memorial Gardens.
