Obituary for James Wildey Rockey

James Wildey  Rockey
James Wildey Rockey, 78 of Aberdeen, MD passed away surrounded by the love of his family on June 15, 2016. He is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years Carol J. (Dudeck) Rockey.

Mr. Rockey was born in Street, MD to the late Charles and Addie (Lee) Rockey.

He was the loving father to Kenneth W. Dudeck and his wife Tina Marie Dudeck of Churchville, MD and Denise Lynn Santoni and her husband Anthony R. Santoni, Sr. of Aberdeen, MD. He was the adoring grandfather to Jacob Dudeck, Brandy Brown and the late Matthew Scott Brown and the great-grandfather of Coleman Robert McChristian and Lily Paige Harvey. He is survived by his siblings Robert and Frances Rockey of Dover, DE, Joseph and Judy Rockey of Dover, DE, Norma Mae Burkins of Havre de Grace, MD and Charlotte and Elmer Burkins of Dublin, MD. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-laws Elizabeth Taylor of Havre de Grace, MD and Charles and Sandra Sturgill of Munith, MI.

Mr. Rockey, better known as “Captain Video” retired after 39 years of service at the Harford County Emergency Operations Center. He was a lifetime member of the Level Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Evangel Assembly of God in Aberdeen, MD. He was an avid Orioles and Ravens Fan. In his younger days he enjoyed gardening, collecting coins, fishing, going to Orioles games and playing ball with his children. Most recently he enjoyed sitting in the sun, playing computer games and spending time with his family.

A viewing will be held on Monday, June 20, 2016 from 6 to 8 P.M. and Tuesday, June 21, 2016 from 10 to 11 A.M. at the Zellman Funeral Home, P.A. 123 S. Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD 21078

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at 11 A.M. at the Zellman Funeral Home, P.A.

Officiating will be Pastor Jeffrey L. Ellwood of Evangel Assembly of God in Aberdeen, MD.
