Obituary for Susan Gaye Zachry

Susan Gaye Zachry, of Halethorpe, MD, passed away suddenly, on December 5, 2015. She was 48.
She was born in Annapolis, MD to Ralph Curtis Zachry of Halethorpe, MD, and Helen Reid Sheaffer of Havre de Grace, MD. She was the loving sister of Sharon Yvonne Zachry and Bobbi Maxine Zachry, both of Havre de Grace, MD, and was the aunt of Kaitlyn Renae White, Ardesia Marie White, Samara Joy White, Jordan Khalil White and Dyllon Kwan Zachry-Nance. She is also survived by her Step-mother, Jill Zachry, many aunts, uncles, her Goddaughter, Molly Atallah, her friends, and furry friends Gunner and Chloe.

Susan graduated from the Havre de Grace High School Class of 1985. She served in, and retired from the U.S. Army, serving in the 290th M.P. Company. She then worked for and retired from the Maryland Department of Corrections in Jessup, and was currently a card dealer at Maryland Live Casino.

Susan enjoyed riding motorcycles and was a member of the Black Tigers Motorcycle Club. She remained a member of the Support Group for the 290th M.P. Company after her retirement and was a member of the American Legion in Halethorpe. She enjoyed spending time at casinos, reading, completing cross-word puzzles and going out to restaurants. Her life revolved around her family and friends, especially her nieces and nephews. She also loved her dogs Gunner, Chloe, and the late Harley, and other animals.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2015, from 2-4 and 7-9, and Friday, December 11, 2015, from 2-4 and 7-9, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 South Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2015, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will be held on Monday, December 14, 2015 at 1:00 PM, at Angel Hill Cemetery, Havre de Grace, MD. Frank McFadden will officiate.
