Mr. Oals enjoyed sightseeing and passing along his knowledge of the history of Havre de grace and Harford County, as he remembered it as a child. His other hobbies included, camping, riding his bicycle, and feeding his beloved squirrels and birds. .Mr. Oals also enjoyed visiting Pennsylvania Dutch Country and found it very peaceful as it reminded him of simpler times.
He was a devoted family man who coached his son’s baseball team and set up camp sites for his daughters Girl Scout troop. He loved the holidays and had decorations for each individual one no matter how big or small.
Mr. Oals was a giving man who donated too many different charities and could be relied upon to help out others in their time of need, not for recognition or praise but simply because he thought it was the right thing to do.
