Obituary for Bernadine Louise Vincenti (Leonardi)

Bernadine Louise Vincenti, age 89, passed away at home with her family on Tuesday August 12th in Churchville, Md. She was born in 1925 to her loving parents the late Angelo and Teresa Vincenti of Havre de Grace Md. Betty was the eldest daughter of eleven children. Raised on the North end of town in a three to four block area known as Little Italy. Families with names like Leonardi, Tarquini, Gatto, Cianelli, Retrossa, Bernardi, Lanquis, DiMauro, Reginaldi, Leodore, Retrossa, Depalo, and Vincenti represent their family and friends and life. Her passing is another reminder of an era gone by. Bernadine loving referred to as Aunt Betty, Grand mom and sometimes Mean Bernadine was a Mother, Guardian, and an excellent provider for many and instilled such values as Family, Love, Respect and Honor to all. After retiring from the Bata Shoe Co. she moved to Churchville to be closer with her grandchildren. Baptized at St. Patrick’s Parish in Havre de Grace at birth she remained and was an active member to the last.
She is survived by her son Patrick and wife Jeannie Vincenti, Four Grandchildren Loren and David Kelley, Patricia and Jeff Standiford, Five Great Grandchildren Jake Ryan Standiford, Jonathon Landon Kelley, Dylan Patrick Kelley, Morgan Standiford, and Brandon Standiford. Betty is also survived by three sisters, Barbra Bergalowski, Tina Biddleman, and Rose Marie and husband James Warren Hamilton and her brother Tony and his wife Marge Vincenti.
Family and Friends will serve as Pallbearers, Mike Nastick, Tom Vincenti, Sam Fava, Mike Tarquini, David Kelley, Anthony Vincenti, Jeff Standiford, James Hamilton, Jr., Mark Vincenti, Mike Boyd, Rob Christian, Gary Sargable, Dylan Kelley, Jonathon Kelley, Brandon Standiford and John Correri.
A viewing will be held on Friday, August 15, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-9 PM, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 South Washington St., Havre de Grace, MD. A Mass of Resurrection will be held on Saturday, August 16, at 10 AM, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 615 Congress Avenue, Havre de Grace, MD 21078.
