Obituary for Wesley D. Johnson Jr.

Wesley Donald Johnson, Jr., of Rising Sun, MD, passed away on July 27, 2013. He was 61.
Mr. Johnson was born in Sellersville, PA, to Dorothy Hendricks Johnson, of Harleysville, PA, and the late Wesley D. Johnson, Sr.
He was the devoted husband of Irene Mackin Johnson and the loving father of Caitlin Marie Johnson of Rising Sun, MD. He was the dear brother of Debra Soviero and husband Peter.

Mr. Johnson retired in 2012 after 35 years of service as an Operations Research Analyst. He conducted combat systems’ logistical, reliability and effectiveness analyses at the U.S. Army Materiel Systems Analysis Activity, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University and a Masters in Business Administration. Mr. Johnson was a Mensa and member of the AUSA and NARFE. He was also an avid golfer. Mr. Johnson was a member of the USGA, the Chesapeake Bay Golf Club Men’s Association and Chair of the Handicap Committee. Above all, he loved spending time with his daughter, enjoyed family gatherings, as well as treasured time with his golfing buddies and work friends.

A Mass of Resurrection will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at 10:00AM, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 615 Congress Avenue, Havre de Grace, MD. Father William J. O’Brien will officiate.
