Carrie Virginia Jones



Carrie Virginia Jones, of Sparta, TN, passed away on Tuesday, January 01, 2013. She was 85.
She was born in Piney Creek, North Carolina, to the late Rev. Conley Lonzo Billings and Margie Lee Halsey Billings.

Mrs. Jones was the wife of the late Elster George Jones. She was the loving mother of Betty L. Lownsbery and her husband Marvin, of Paradise, PA, Patricia A. Crownover and her husband Raymond, of Sparta, TN, and Virginia K. Waldrop and her husband Tony, of Aberdeen, MD. She was the adored grandmother of Daniel and Stacey Walls, Scott Stout, Tricia and Eric Polk, Tony Waldrop, Jr., and Timothy Waldrop. She was the great-grandmother of Aubry Stout, Shannon Polk, Eric Polk, II, and Amanda Carr, and was the great-great grandmother of Jackson Carr and Miranda Carr. She was the dear sister of Larry Billings, James Billings, Michael Billings, Evelyn Wagoner, and the late Lacey Billings, William Billings, and Retha Wood.

Mrs. Jones was the former owner of Jones Little Collector Shop in Havre de Grace, MD. She loved flowers, antiques, auctions and yard sales. She also liked shopping at the grocery store and crocheting. She loved the music of Dolly Parton, George Jones and Alan Jackson.

A viewing will be held on Monday, January 7, 2013, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 South Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Harford Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen, MD. Pallbearers will be Marvin Lownsbery, Tony Waldrop, Tony Waldrop, Jr., Scott Stout, Timothy Waldrop, and Eric Polk.
