Obituary for Roberta Marie "Robin" Vaughan

Roberta “Robin” Marie Vaughan


Roberta “Robin” Marie Vaughan, of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away on June 22, 2013. She was 77.

Mrs. Vaughan was born in Carnegie, OK, to Thompson and Ruby Toni Vaughan. She was the loving wife of 17 years of Allan Burke. She was the loving mother of Thomas and Toni Marshall of Vienna, VA, Bradley and Robyn Marshall of Mannases, VA, and step-mother of Nora Burke Mahala of Havre de Grace. She was the adored grandmother of twins Tommy and Aiden Marshall, Tricia Ragan, and Tootie Ragan. She was the dear sister of Calvin Vaughan of Lebanon Missouri and of the late Luella Vaughan of Carnegie, OK.

Mrs. Vaughan had worked as a school teacher, a speech pathologist, an Army wife, a purchasing manager and a marketing executive. She finished her working life as an auditor for The Aberdeen Proving Ground Federal Credit Union. She received her undergraduate degree from The Oklahoma College for Women and received her Master’s Degree in Business from Shippensburg University.

Mrs. Vaughan enjoyed traveling and sailing with her husband, serving her church, and working in service organizations, especially the Harford County emergency shelter for the homeless. She also served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for Children for Harford County.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 3rd, 2013 at 2:00 PM, at Havre de Grace United Methodist Church, 101 South Union Avenue, Havre de Grace, MD. Pastor Norman Obenshain will officiate.
