Barbara W. Querns

Barbara W. Querns of Havre de Grace, Maryland, passed away at home, surrounded by her family on April 21, 2008. She was 67.

She was born in New Haven, CT to the Late Andrew J. and Leona W. (Wroblewski) Wrobell. She was the beloved wife for 22 years to Ronald W. Querns of Havre de Grace, MD.

She was a devoted mother to two: Michael and his wife Tracy of Belcamp, MD and Valerie Querns of Beverly Hills, CA. She was a loving grandmother of three: Brianna and Samantha Imeidopf of Belcamp, MD and Olivia Joy Querns also of Belcamp, MD. She is survived by her adoring sisters: Estelle W. Murphy of Honolulu, HI and Elinore W. Tykson of Baltimore, MD, two nieces, Cynthia Donovan of Bel Air, MD, and Laurel Murphy of Honolulu, HI, and a nephew, Drew Murphy of Honolulu, HI.

She completed her high school education at Hamden, CT and went on to receive her Bachelor and Master’s degree in elementary education from Towson University. She was a loving teacher of many children and had retired from Harford County Public Schools after 34 years. She was a teacher for 11 years at Hall’s Cross Roads and then MeadowvaleElementary Schools for 23 years. She was a member of the retired Teachers Association. Mrs. Querns loved watercolor painting, gardening and was a member of the Evergreen Garden Club. She was a member of the Susquehanna Lock House Museum. She was a volunteer of many community services, including, Meals on Wheels.

Services will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 615 Congress Avenue, Havre de Grace, MD on April 26, 2008 at 10 AM.

Officiating will be Father William J. O’Brien.
